Why BoldHearts Exists

A grounded space for those carrying more than they can name.

The Heart Behind BoldHearts

BoldHearts was created for men who carry weight — emotional, spiritual, relational, vocational — and need a place where they don’t have to hold it alone. Men who are strong enough to show up every day, but honest enough to know that something needs to change.

Most men don’t come to counseling to sit and talk about their feelings. They come because they want to move — through what’s stuck, through what’s breaking, through what’s holding them back from the life and relationships they were made for. BoldHearts exists for that man. The one who is ready to stop managing it and start moving through it.

This work is rooted in a simple but deep belief — that God is already at work in your life. Not waiting for you to have it together. Not standing at a distance while you figure it out. Already present, already moving, already inviting you into something more whole than where you are right now. Spiritual direction and pastoral care don’t manufacture that movement. They simply help you slow down enough to notice it, name what is true, and take the next step with honesty and courage.

You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong. You just have to be willing to show up — and bold enough to move forward.

That’s what BoldHearts is for.

About Steve

I’m Steve Forney — a spiritual director, pastoral counselor, and long-time guide for leaders navigating complexity. My background spans organizational leadership, systems design, and soul care.

I’ve walked alongside men through seasons of transition, burnout, shifting callings, grief, and deep spiritual questions. I know what it is to carry more than you show — and I know what it looks like when a man finally decides to stop carrying it alone.

My approach is contemplative, trauma-aware, and grounded in the Christian tradition — while remaining genuinely open to men from a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs. Faith is not required to walk through this door. But if you bring it, it will be welcomed, held, and taken seriously.

If you’re ready to boldly move forward — I’d be honored to walk with you.
